Arsenal and Totteham will face competition from Bayern Munich for Malcom after Jupp Heynckes confirmed the Bundesliga outfit's interest
Arsenal are facing stiff competition from Bayern Munich to sign Bordeaux striker Malcom after Jupp Heynckes confirmed the Bundesliga leaders’ interest.
The Gunners were heavily linked with a move to sign the Brazilian forward in the January transfer window but Arsenal didn’t conclude a deal for Malcom.
The struggling Premier League signed Borussia Dortmund striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Manchester United midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan in the most recent transfer window.
Their bitter north London rivals Tottenham Hotspur are also being touted with a move to sign the 21-year-old forward.
The Evening Standard is reporting that Bordeaux will sell their prized asset in a deal worth around £45m at the end of the 2017-18 season.
Bayern manager Heynckes confirmed that the Bundesliga leaders are interested in the Bordeaux attacker.
“He’s certainly in the focus of our scouting department, like many other players as well,” Heynckes is quoted as saying by BildSport.
“[Sporting director] Hasan Salihamidzic has very clear ideas and is driving forward the plans for next season.
“He knows exactly who is in our sights and which players he would like to have. He has high quality players in mind.”
Malcom has scored eight goals and has made six assists in 25 appearances in Ligue 1 this season to capture the attention of some top European clubs.
Arsenal were 2-0 winners against Serie A giants AC Milan in the second leg of their Europa League last-16 at the San Siro on Thursday night.
The Gunners lost 3-0 to Manchester City in the League Cup final at Wembley at the end of February.
