Journalist claims Arsenal will launch £40m offer for next top summer target
Sky Sports News reporter Kaveh Solhekol says Arsenal's number one summer target is now Thomas Lemar

Arsenal are ready to make a second offer of £40m to sign Monaco midfielder Thomas Lemar this summer, according to Kaveh Solhekol.
The Sky Sports News reporter is claiming that the north London side have made signing the France international their next priority in the summer transfer window.
The Gunners signed Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette in a club-record £52m deal on Wednesday to bolster Arsene Wenger’s attacking options ahead of the 2017-18 season.
Now, the Arsenal manager wants to bring in Monaco’s exciting 21-year-old playmaker Lemar to complement Lacazette in his Gunners team.
However, Solhekol has revealed that the FA Cup winners have already failed with a £30m offer to sign the attacking midfielder from the Ligue 1 champions.
The Sky Sports News journalist provided Arsenal fans with an update on their pursuit of the Monaco star.
“We understand Monaco attacking midfielder Thomas Lemar is now their [Arsenal’s] number one target. Arsenal have already had a £30m bid rejected,” Solhekol told Sky Sports News HQ.
“The reports in France today say they have gone back in with a second bid, this time of £40m. Monaco are trying to keep hold of their young stars and will not let Lemar go on the cheap.”
Arsenal finished in fifth place in the Premier League table last season to miss out on a place in the Champions League next term.
