Arsenal table bid to make 28-year-old their second signing – report
Arsenal have made an opening offer to sign defender Simon Kjaer from Fenerbahce, say reports
Arsenal have tabled a £10m bid to sign defender Simon Kjaer from Fenerbahce, according to reports in Turkey.
Turkish outlet TurksVoetbal is reporting that the north London side have made the first move in trying to bring the 28-year-old defender to The Emirates this summer as Arsene Wenger looks to further bolster his squad.
Arsenal have already secured the signing of left-back Sead Kolasinac from Schalke on a free transfer and Kjaer is next on their radar, according to the reports.
The same report states that the former Lille defender is also attracting interest from both AC Milan and Inter Milan – but it is Arsenal who have made the highest bid so far.
Kjaer, who is under contract until the summer of 2019, scored three goals and made one assist in 43 games for the Turkish side last season.
Wenger is thought to be on the lookout for a number of new signings this summer as the Frenchman looks to try and transform his team into title challengers next season.
Arsenal missed out on Champions League qualification but managed to end the season on a high by beating Chelsea to win the FA Cup last month.
