Reporter reveals Arsenal’s number one target to replace Alexis Sanchez
Daily Mirror reporter John Cross says Bordeaux striker Malcom is at the top of Arsenal's list to replace Alexis Sanchez
Arsenal have placed Malcom at the top of their wishlist to replace Alexis Sanchez, John Cross has claimed.
The Brazil Under-23 international has established himself as Bordeaux’s marquee player over the past 12 months or so.
Indeed, Malcom has scored seven times and has made four assists in the current season despite Bordeaux’s struggles.
Sanchez has entered the final six months of his current Arsenal contract to prompt intense speculation surrounding his future.
The Chile international is being tipped to move to Premier League leaders Manchester City in January or at the end of the season.
Sanchez was Arsenal’s leading goal-scorer last term following a return of 24 goals in 38 games in the Premier League last term.
Daily Mirror reporter Cross confirmed that Malcom is Arsenal’s number one target to replace Sanchez at The Emirates.
“Top of the list [to replace Sanchez] is Malcolm,” Cross told BBC Radio 5 Live. “They are having conversations about that.”
Arsenal haven’t won the Premier League title since 2004 but have won three FA Cup crowns in four seasons.
The Gunners are facing a battle to finish in the Premier League’s top four this term.
