Nigel Winterburn identifies three signings Arsenal need to make in summer
The Arsenal legend believes the Gunners need three signings in the summer transfer window

Nigel Winterburn believes Arsenal need to sign a goalkeeper, a centre-half and a central midfielder in the summer transfer window.
The Gunners are on the lookout for a new manager after Arsene Wenger confirmed his intention to stand down at the end of the campaign.
The north London side are in sixth place in the Premier League table and set to miss out on Champions League football for the second successive season.
Arsenal missed out on the chance to qualify for next season’s Champions League by winning the Europa League following a 2-1 loss to La Liga giants Atletico Madrid in the semi-final.
Wenger’s successor will have an unenviable task overhauling the Gunners squad given their undoubted regression under Wenger in recent seasons.
Former Arsenal defender Winterburn believes Arsenal need to strengthen their spine in the summer transfer window irrespective of who takes over from Wenger.
“At this moment in time I think you have to look at the whole squad. Ospina wants to play regularly, Petr Cech is coming towards the end of his career, so they may be looking at a new goalkeeper.” Winterburn told BetStars.
“Koscielny has now picked up a serious injury, people have been questioning the back four for a while, but I think when you look at the top teams they have a spine through the team that has real quality and outstanding players.
“First of all, Arsenal will look right down the centre of the pitch, they’re probably okay for a centre forward, but a central midfielder, a centre-half and maybe a goalkeeper are positions the new manager will be looking at. As I said before, most of the teams in the Premier League are looking at those type of players to improve their squad because those are the key positions where you need to be really strong.”
Arsenal finished in fifth place in the Premier League table last season to miss out on Champions League football in the current campaign.
The Gunners lost 3-0 to Premier League champions Manchester City in the League Cup final at Wembley.
Arsenal signed Borussia Dortmund striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Manchester United star Henrikh Mkhitaryan.
