Ray Parlour has urged Arsenal to resist the temptation to sell Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to bitter rivals Manchester United this summer.

The Gunners striker has been linked with a surprise move to the 20-time English champions in the 2019 summer transfer window.

The 30-year-old has scored an impressive in 41 goals in 65 games in all competitions since his £57m to Arsenal from Borussia Dortmund in 2017.

Aubameyang has been touted as a target for a number of clubs as Arsenal look to bolster their transfer budget.

However, Manchester United have seemingly emerged as contenders to sign the Gabon international ahead of the start of 2019-20 Premier League season.

Former Arsenal midfielder Parlour is adamant that the Gunners should’t contemplate offloading Aubameyang to Manchester United this summer.

“It would be madness to let him [Aubameyang] go, but players have got all the power these days,” Parlour told talkSPORT, as quoted by Metro.

“Aubameyang and Lacazette were absolutely brilliant last season. It looks like they’ve got a really good relationship up front, you can see how they celebrate goals.

“I’d be amazed by that [if he signed for United], I really would. That would shock me.

“That wouldn’t be good from an Arsenal supporters’ point of view – we all remember when Robin van Persie left to United and they ended up winning the league the following season.

“When I go to pre-season, I’m really hoping Aubameyang is on that plane.

“Goal-scorers are so important. Good ones are hard to find and he’s really proven he is a top class goalscorer.

“You want to be adding to your squad, not trying to get rid of a few players!”

Aubameyang forged an impressive strike partnership with France international Alexandre Lacazette last season, even though the Gunners narrowly missed out on a top-four finish.

The Gabon forward has netted 22 times in 36 games in the Premier League last term to finish at the top of the division’s goal-scoring charts alongside Liverpool FC duo Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane.

Arsenal lost 4-1 to bitter rivals Chelsea FC in the Europa League final in Baku to miss out on a place in the Champions League next term.
