Sky Sports reporter: Quality 28-year-old striker happy to sign for Arsenal
Bryan Swanson discusses the reports linking Arsenal with a move to sign Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang from Dortmund
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is keen on a transfer to Arsenal this month, according to Sky Sports reporter Bryan Swanson.
The Gunners have been heavily linked with a host of attacking players in recent days after the north Londoners opted to sell Theo Walcott to Everton for a fee believed to be around £20m.
The uncertainty about Alexis Sanchez’s future at the club has also prompted further speculation linking Arsenal with some more attacking reinforcements.
Aubameyang is widely regarded as one of European football’s top talents and he has scored 13 goals and made three assists in 15 Bundesliga games for Dortmund so far this season.
He has also netted four times in the Champions League for Borussia Dortmund so far this term.
Now, Sky Sports News reporter Swanson has claimed that the attacker would be very keen on securing a transfer to Arsenal this month if the opportunity arose.
Speaking on the Transfer Talk podcast, Swanson said: “The player is more than happy to move to Arsenal. Arsenal are willing to pay 60m euros.
“Arsenal were expecting to hear from Dortmund about how much they expected and whether they were interested in a deal. Aubameyang is their number one replacement for Sanchez.”
Meanwhile, Arsenal are currently preparing for their Premier League clash against Crystal Palace at The Emirates on Saturday as the look to get back to winning ways in the top flight.
Arsene Wenger’s men were beaten 2-1 by Bournemouth last weekend to dent their Champions League qualification hopes.
