Arsenal linked with summer move to sign 27-year-old – report
Arsenal are keen on a move to sign Real Betis defender Aissa Mandi, according to reports
Arsenal are interested in a summer move to sign Real Betis defender Aissa Mandi, according to reports in Spain.
Spanish outlet ElDesmarque, as quoted by Metro, is reporting that Unai Emery is a big fan of the defender and that Arsenal are keen to make a move to bring the 27-year-old to The Emirates.
However, it is claimed in the same story that Arsenal are likely to have to wait until the summer to bring the defender to north London.
That’s because Real Betis have apparently made it clear that they would only consider selling Mandi this month if his €30m (£26m) buy-out clause is paid in full.
The same story suggests that it is unlikely that the Gunners will be able to sign him this month because financial issues are restricting the north London side to loan deals only.
Mandi has been a regular fixture in the Betis side so far this season, making one assist in 20 La Liga games for the Spanish side.
The Algeria international has also featured four times in the Europa League this term.
Meanwhile, Arsenal are aiming to bounce back from their FA Cup exit at the hands of Manchester United when they host Cardiff City in the Premier League on Tuesday night.
