Unai Emery wants to replace Steve Bould with Arsenal legend Freddie Ljungberg in his backroom staff, according to a report in England.

Website Football.London, as quoted by Metro, is reporting that the Gunners manager is looking to shake up his coaching team with a new appointment this summer.

The same article states that Bould has become increasingly isolated at the north London side after Emery retained his services to provide a link to the Arsene Wenger era.

According to the same story, the Arsenal manager has his sights set on another Gunners legend in the shape of former Sweden international Ljungberg.

The report goes on to suggest that there’s a belief Ljungberg’s style of play would complement Emery’s vision for Arsenal.

Ljungberg has been working with Arsenal’s Under-23 side over the past few seasons to gain vital coaching experience at the north London side.

The retired Swedish footballer was part of Wenger’s side that won the Premier League title without losing a game in 2003-04.

He finished his Arsenal career with two Premier League titles, three FA Cups and the Community Shield.

Arsenal can end their season on a high note if the Gunners manage to beat Chelsea FC in the Europa League final in Baku.

The Gunners haven’t won the Premier League title since their success in 2004.
