Arsenal could make an official bid to sign William Saliba from Saint-Etienne this week, according to reports

Arsenal could make an official bid to sign William Saliba from Saint-Etienne this week, according to reports in France.
French outlet Yahoo! Sport France, as quoted by the Daily Express, is reporting that the Gunners are ready to step up their interest in the 18-year-old defender as they look to get a deal over the line as soon as possible.
Arsenal have been credited with an interest in signing Saliba this summer and it would seem that the north London club are now ready to make their interest official, if the report is to be believed.
Unai Emery is believed to be on the lookout for a number of signings this summer, although his transfer budget is understood to be limited due to Arsenal’s failure to qualify for the Champions League.
According to the same story, Arsenal are set to “accelerate” their interest in Saliba and wrap up a deal as soon as possible.
The same article says that the French club value Saliba at around £26m and that he is under contract with Saint-Etienne until 2023.
Arsenal are yet to officially confirm any new signings this summer as Emery looks to strengthen his squad ahead of next season.
The north London side finished in sixth place in the Premier League table and without a trophy last season.
