Wenger is understood to be interested in luring the Colombia international to Emirates Stadium on a season-long loan deal.
But the Gunners boss, whose side travel to Leicester City on Sunday, gave little away when questioned about a potential move for the 28-year-old forward.
When asked directly about Falcao, Wenger replied: “It is very difficult to go into all that. Once again, all the negotiations have to be as secret as possible.
“If we sign somebody, if we sign Falcao, you will of course be informed.”
He added: “We live in a society of opinions. People are better informed today, many of them are even better informed than I am.
“Everyone is entitled to have an opinion. But it doesn’t necessarily mean their opinion is right.”
