Arsene Wenger is wary of the threat posed by Loic Remy ahead of Arsenal’s trip to Queens Park Rangers, following speculation linking the striker with a transfer to the Gunners.

The 26-year-old forward has impressed since swapping Marseille for QPR in January, scoring five Premier League goals in 11 appearances for Harry Redknapp’s men.

Arsenal have been touted as a possible destination for the France international should he leave Loftus Road in the summer, with Liverpool and Tottenham also reportedly interested.

And Wenger has been impressed by the striker’s impact since arriving in the Premier League in the winter.

“It is bit short to assess him [in England] but the first impression is positive,” said Wenger, whose side travel to QPR on Saturday.

“He is a talented player who plays for the French national team. So we will have to keep him quiet. He is a very efficient striker.”

Quizzed over Remy’s future last week, QPR boss Redknapp was full of praise for the forward but admitted the Hoops could face a challenge in convincing him to stay at the club following their relegation last weekend.

“He’s been great,” Redknapp said. “He’s a player that I think could score 20 Premier League goals in a full season.

“He’s come here and [only] played a handful of games but he is our leading goal-scorer.

“It will be difficult [to keep him]. We’d like to keep him obviously, but we have to sit down and see what his plans are.”
