Cesc Fàbregas says he wants to finish his career at Barcelona despite speculation linking him with a return to England in the future.

The 26-year-old was the subject of two failed bids from reigning Premier League champions Manchester United in the summer transfer window.

Fàbregas joined Barcelona in a £35m deal from Arsenal in 2011 after eight seasons at the north London side, winning the FA Cup crown in 2005.

Arsenal had been linked with a move for their former captain in the past, whilst United could rekindle their interest next summer, but Fàbregas is keen to remain at Camp Nou.

“The tougher the challenge the better I like it and Barcelona was the biggest and most difficult, and I want to finish in a happy manner and if I can retire at Barca, then so much the better,” said Fàbregas.

“The only thing in my head is triumphing at Barcelona.

“When I arrived at Barcelona I already knew there were other places where I could earn more or where I could have more minutes, but coming to Barca was my dream.

“It was my dream since I was small. I wouldn’t go, not even for double the money.”

Fàbregas has scored 29 goals and made 37 assists in 101 appearances in all competition after joining the La Liga champions two years ago.
