Ignasi Miquel has promised to help Arsenal target Alexis Sánchez settle at The Emirates if the Barcelona star completes his Gunners switch.

The north London side are thought to be on the verge of signing the Chile international from Barcelona in a deal worth around £35m.

Liverpool had been chasing the 25-year-old South American forward, but Sánchez is reported to prefer a switch to the English capital.

And former Barcelona defender Miquel, who spent last season on loan at Leicester City, hopes to help Sánchez settle if the moves goes through.

“I hope that I can help him settle in, but to do that I will have to stay,” Miquel told El Mundo Deportivo.

The 21-year-old defender, who has made five Premier League appearances for the Gunners in three seasons, reckons Sánchez will effortlessly slot into the Gunners side.

“Alexis will fit perfectly with Arsenal; it’ll be a joy to have him at the club as he’s a great player,” Miquel added.

Earlier on Thursday, the winger’s Barcelona-based hairdresser claimed that Sánchez has told him that he is moving to Arsenal.

“Alexis Sánchez visited us to say goodbye. As reported, he’ll join Arsenal,” Carlos Moles wrote on his Facebook page.
