Arsenal transfers: ‘Gunners move would be good for Julian Draxler’
Arsenal transfers: Jens Lehmann says Julian Draxler should join the Gunners - but is tipping the forward to move this summer

Jens Lehmann believes joining Arsenal would be a “good move” for Schalke’s Julian Draxler – but doesn’t expect the forward to complete a switch until the summer.
The Gunners have been heavily linked with a £30m bid for the highly-rated 20-year-old midfielder over the past month ahead of next week’s transfer deadline.

But former Arsenal goalkeeper Lehmann reckons Draxler could remain at Schalke until the end of the season in order to face Real Madrid in the Champions League last 16.
“I think Julian Draxler is perceived to be one of the greatest, talented young players in Germany. So it would be a good move for him to go to Arsenal,” Lehmann told Sky Sports.
“Probably not now in the winter break because he can still play Real Madrid in the Champions League with Schalke. He can see Schalke will be qualified for next year’s Champions League.
“With Arsenal, he has a bigger likeness of playing in the Champions League next year, which is quite certain. Of course, it may give him a bigger chance to play at the World Cup with Brazil.”
Draxler has scored 26 goals in 133 appearances for Schalke since making his debut in January 2011.
