Arsenal transfers: No Barcelona bid for Arda Turan
Arsenal transfers: Arda Turan's agent insists that Barcelona have not made a bid for the winger
Barcelona have not submitted a bid for Arda Turan this summer amid reported interest from Arsenal, the player’s agent has said.
The 27-year-old Turkey international has been linked with a move to the Camp Nou, as well as Manchester United and the Gunners in recent months.
Recent speculation had suggested that the La Liga side were ready to pay Turan’s €24m (£19.4m) buyout clause but Ahmet Bulut insists the player is happy at Atletico Madrid.
“What has been published and has been put in my mouth is false. Barça have not contacted me about Arda and the player is happy at Atletico,” Bulut is quoted as saying in El Mundo Deportivo.
Speaking earlier this year, Bulut admitted that Turan would be interested in playing under Arsene Wenger at Arsenal.
“He is interested in working under Arsene Wenger and Arda would like to play in England,” said Bulut in March.
“Arda will not leave Atletico. They are part of the title race and he is a key player. Arda plays for a big club and he will be part of Atletico’s success.”
