Arsenal transfers: No Saints move for Diego, says Pochettino
Arsenal transfers: Southampton manager Mauricio Pochettino rubbishes talk of a move for Wolfsburg midfielder Diego

Mauricio Pochettino has ruled out Southampton making a move for Diego in the January transfer window.
The Brazil international had spoken of his admiration for the Saints earlier this week, fuelling talk of an imminent move to St Mary’s.
However, Southampton boss Pochettino, whose side face Chelsea on Sunday, insisted the south coast club aren’t interested in the former Juve man,
“Of course we know of him, as we know of any other players,” Pochettino said. “But that piece of news doesn’t make any sense, because Southampton is not interested in him.
“We have also seen this news in Spanish media, so I don’t really know where these rumours come from.”
Earlier this week, Diego claimed that Arsenal were among the Premier League clubs interested in his signature.
“I know there is interest from Premier League clubs. I have heard Arsenal is one of them,” said Diego.
“It would be the ideal destination for me because their style suits my characteristics. Of course I would say yes to Arsenal.
“Southampton have great organisation and discipline and big talents like Adam Lallana. But again, there is nothing concrete.”
