Arsenal transfers: Thomas Vermaelen rubbishes Gunners exit rumours
Arsenal transfers: Thomas Vermaelen insists he isn't looking to quit the Gunners despite being out-of-favour this season

Thomas Vermaelen believes he can still do a job for Arsenal and insists he isn’t looking to leave the club in January.
The 27-year-old was brought in from the cold to deputise for Per Mertesacker in a 1-0 loss to Manchester United after his German team-mate was struck down by illness ahead of Sunday’s clash.
It was Vermaelen’s first Premier League start of the season as Arsene Wenger continues to stick with first-choice centre-halves Laurent Koscielny and Mertesacker.
Inter Milan have been linked with a move for the Belgium international in recent weeks, but Vermaelen underlined his desire to remain at the north London side.
“Yes. At the moment there is no story. I’m not talking about it. It’s now November but any moment things can happen. If they do, I’m ready and I’m not thinking about anything else,” Vermaelen is quoted as saying by London Evening Standard.
“I can keep talking about my situation. I’ve done that with the national team and I keep on reading the stories that I want to leave.
“But that’s not the case. I’m still focused on the team at the moment and that’s what I want to do. I’m always positive.
“What I have said is that it is not about my situation but what the team do and I’m really happy that we’re top of the league.
“Personally I’m still confident I can play for this club and every chance I get I will do a job for this club.”
