Arsenal transfers: Wenger explains plans for January window
Arsenal transfers: Arsene Wenger insists he will look to bolster his squad if "something special turns up"

Arsene Wenger insists that he will not hesitate to strengthen his Arsenal squad if a “special” player becomes available during the January transfer window.
The Gunners head into 2014 top of the Premier League table thanks to the flying start to the season which followed their club-record signing of Mesut Ozil over the summer.
And although Wenger admits that he is not “desperate” to bolster his ranks this month, the Frenchman refused to rule out making another big-name signing.
“We are always in the front seat [in the transfer window] because that’s the best and only option if something turns up,” Wenger, who has been linked with a loan move for Real Madrid’s Álvaro Morata in recent days, told Arsenal Player.
“We are not completely desperate to buy, let’s say that. Our record speaks for us and for the team but if something special turns up we’ll not turn it down, of course.
“As usual at the start [of the window] there is a lot of talk and speculation but it [all the business] always happens in the last three or four days and sometimes on the last day.
“You have to be on your toes. It’s like fishing – it demands a lot of concentration but the moments when you can really materialise it are very short.”
