Arsenal will show their true quality next year, declares Arsene Wenger

Arsene Wenger says his Arsenal squad will show their true quality next season as the Gunners gear up for their crunch clash at Newcastle.

Wenger’s men head into Sunday’s clash knowing that a victory will secure a top-four finish and a place in next season’s Champions League.

The game brings to an end a turbulent season for the Gunners, who were knocked out of both domestic cups by lower league opposition and saw their Champions League bid ended by Bayern Munich in the last 16.

But Wenger is sure that his side will showcase their true talent in the next campaign and urged his troops to finish the season on a high.

“The game on Sunday is also for next season, to know when you have to turn up, you turn up,” Wenger said.

“That makes your future stronger as well: the strength and belief that you can start strongly again, that you are on a run, and you don’t interrupt that because of the summer break.

“You just know there are some qualities in this squad that will come out next year.”
