Ian Wright states his prediction for Arsenal v Chelsea in FA Cup final
The Arsenal legend is backing Chelsea to be too strong for a wounded Gunners side in the FA Cup final
Ian Wright is tipping Chelsea to beat a wounded Arsenal side in the FA Cup final on Saturday evening.
The Gunners are looking to finish a largely disappointing 2016-17 season on a positive note.
Arsenal finished in fifth place in the Premier League table and a point behind Liverpool despite ending the campaign with a flurry of victories.
The north London side have lifted the FA Cup two times in the past three seasons as Arsene Wenger looks to win the competition for a record eighth time.
Chelsea, on the other hand, have enjoyed a whirlwind first season under Antonio Conte after winning the Premier League title at a canter.
The Blues are looking to win the FA Cup for the first time since 2012 when Roberto Di Matteo’s men were 2-1 winners against Liverpool.
Speaking to the Sun Goals podcast about the FA Cup final, Wright appeared to back Chelsea to beat Arsenal in the Wembley showpiece.
“They want to do the double. They’re coming up against an Arsenal side that are wounded,” Wright said.
Chelsea were 3-0 winners against Arsenal in their most-recent Premier League meeting.
