Michael Owen states his prediction for Arsenal v Vitoria
Michael Owen predicts Arsenal's home Europa League clash against Vitoria on Thursday night
Michael Owen is backing Arsenal to beat Vitoria in their Europa League clash at The Emirates on Thursday night.
The Gunners head into the game looking to try and return to winning ways after the disappointment of their 1-0 loss to Sheffield United in the Premier League on Monday night.
Arsenal have made something of a mixed start to the new Premier League season and they currently find themselves in fifth place in the table and two points behind fourth-placed Chelsea FC after nine games.
The north London side have won both of their opening Europa League games this season against Eintracht Frankfurt and Standard Liege.
And former Liverpool FC striker Owen is fully expecting to see the Gunners claim all three points when they host Vitoria at The Emirates on Thursday night.
Writing in his column for BetVictor, Owen said: “Arsenal have scored seven times without reply in their two group games to date and I expect them to have far too much class for a Portuguese side who currently prop up the table without a point or, indeed, a goal to date.
“The Gunners have real strength in depth and Unai Emery looks sure to shuffle his pack as he looks to go one better in the competition than last season.”
Arsenal will then switch their attentions back towards Premier League affairs and their home clash against Crystal Palace on Sunday 27 October.
The north London side are then in League Cup action when they take on Liverpool FC in the fourth round at Anfield on Wednesday 30 October.
Arsenal are looking to try and break back into the top four this season after they finished fifth and without a trophy last term.
