Michael Owen states his prediction for Arsenal v Watford
The Liverpool FC legend is backing Arsenal to beat Watford at The Emirates on Sunday afternoon
Michael Owen is backing Arsenal to ease to a comfortable win over Watford at The Emirates on Sunday afternoon.
The Gunners were impressive 2-0 winners against Serie A giants AC Milan in the first leg of their Europa League last-16 clash at San Siro on Thursday night.
Arsenal have been in miserable form in the Premier League in recent weeks after a return of four defeats in their last five outings in domestic football.
The north London side lost 2-1 to Brighton and Hove Albion at the Amex Stadium last weekend a matter of days following a 3-0 loss to Manchester City at The Emirates.
The Gunners are in sixth place in the Premier League table and 13 points adrift of Tottenham Hotspur in the race to secure a Champions League spot.
Former Liverpool FC striker Owen is backing Arsenal to beat Watford at The Emirates in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.
“Arsenal have conceded in their last eleven Premier League games and lost their last three,” Owen told BetVictor.
“Irrespective of the result in Milan in the Europa League, this is another massive game for the club and it is worth noting that Watford have won two of their last three games at the Emirates.
“The Gunners are just shy of the best in Europe and the Premier League but they are the sixth best side in the division and I expect them to keep the points in an entertaining clash at the Emirates.”
Arsenal haven’t won the Premier League title since 2003-04 when Thierry Henry and Patrick Vieira was in his pomp.
The Gunners will be hoping to win the Europa League to secure a return to the Champions League for the 2018-19 season.
The north London side signed Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Henrikh Mkhitaryan in the January transfer window.
