Arsenal’s Olivier Giroud insists off-field controversy is behind him

Olivier Giroud insists that he has moved on from the off-field controversy surrounding the Arsenal striker.

The French forward found himself in the headlines after allegedly breaching club curfew rules prior to a home game earlier in the season.

But although the 27-year-old conceded that it proved to be a difficult period for him, the striker insists that he is now simply focused on performing on the pitch.

“It was difficult to manage. At such times, we need to focus on the field and think about what I do best: my job, simply,” Giroud told RMC Sport.

“I think I have a strength of character that allows me to make sense of things. Yes, it affected me but it was not seen on the field. I have used it as an outlet .

“This is where I need to be and do some things and continue to take a lot of pleasure. That happened pretty well on these four games where I scored two goals.”
