Jack Wilshere expects Arsenal goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny to be “bang up” for beating England when Poland aim to spoil the hosts’ party at Wembley on Tuesday.

Roy Hodgson’s men can secure their place at next summer’s World Cup in Brazil if they beat Group H rivals Poland after a 4-1 win against Montenegro on Friday.

Gunners goalkeeper Szczesny is vying for a starting spot in the Poland set-up, and Wilshere knows his Arsenal team-mate will be desperate to beat the Three Lions.

“I lived with Wojciech Szczesny for a year growing up at Arsenal so I know him really well and I know every game he goes in to he doesn’t want to lose so he is going to be bang up for it,” said Wilshere, who was speaking to FATV.

“They have got some other tough players as well, so it is going to be a tough game. We have to be up for it. We know what we have to do so it is in our hands.

“It would be a dream come true to play in the World Cup especially after missing Euro 2012 – that was a massive disappointment – but the World Cup is the biggest stage of all.”
