Arsene Wenger is convinced that Arsenal have what it takes to beat Everton to a fourth-place finish this season.

The Toffees moved two points above the Gunners in the Premier League table on Saturday to leave Roberto Martinez’s side on course for Champions League qualification with five games left to play.

I think we have the focus, quality, spirit and desire

But Wenger, whose side host West Ham United at Emirates Stadium on Tuesday night, insists that the north London side are not considering the possibility of missing out on a top-four finish.

“[We do] not imagine the consequences of not doing it. What we want is to just focus on doing it,” said Wenger.

“I think we have the focus, quality, spirit and desire. We are slowly getting our players back so the squad is not depleted any more.

“It will be much stronger in the next weeks than it was two or three weeks ago.”

Asked if Arsenal will need to win their remaining five games to finish fourth, Wenger replied: “It is the target. Do you need it? Nobody knows. But the target is of course to win every game.”
