Arsenal player: This is what Arsene Wenger has told me about his future

Lucas Perez has revealed that Arsene Wenger has not spoken to any of Arsenal’s players about his future plans.

The Frenchman’s situation at The Emirates has been a relentless source of speculation in recent weeks following Arsenal’s dramatic slump in form.

The north London side were dumped out of the Champions League following a humiliating 10-2 aggregate loss to Bayern Munich earlier this month and have also lost four of their last five Premier League games.

Arsenal are now facing an uphill struggle to secure Champions League qualification, with Wenger’s men currently sixth in the Premier League table as they chase a top-four finish.

Wenger’s future has been a constant source of speculation due to the fact that his current Arsenal contract is due to expire in the summer.

And Perez, who joined Arsenal from Deportivo La Coruna last summer, says Wenger has not updated his squad about his future – but feels he is likely to stay on at The Emirates.

Perez told Spanish newspaper Marca: “The relationship I have with Wenger is good and I think he will continue, but he has not yet communicated it to anyone.

“He is a normal person, very accessible, humble. Wenger knows all the people who work at the club and is always willing to help them.”
