Aston Villa 0 Man United 3: David Moyes felt his side could have scored more after comfortable victory at Villa Park
David Moyes felt Manchester United could have scored more goals after they brushed aside Aston Villa to end their losing run in the Premier League.
Danny Welbeck gave the Red Devils the lead in the 15th minute at Villa Park, before making it 2-0 minutes later when he turned home Antonio Valencia’s cross.
And Tom Cleverley fired home early in the second half to wrap up a victory that lifted United into eighth place in the table and 10 points behind leaders Arsenal.
“It was a good job from us,” said Moyes, who had lost back-to-back home games heading into Sunday’s clash
“The players did well and the only thing I would criticise is that we didn’t score more goals.
“We were a bit sloppy in first five minutes but after that played really well.”
Meanwhile, Villa boss Paul Lambert admitted that his side were made to pay for poor defending for all three of United’s goals.
“I thought we started as well as we have done for a number of weeks but the first goal was poor as we should have stopped the cross. The second and third goals, we were in possession and they scored,” said Lambert.
“The pleasing thing is we never gave up. The disappointing thing for me is the manner of the goals.”
