The Scot, who crashed out of the Paris Masters in the third round on Thursday after suffering a surprise defeat by Poland’s Jerzy Janowicz, is aiming to end a successful year on a positive note in London.

Murray claimed Olympic gold at Wimbledon over the summer, before securing his first Grand Slam title when he defeated Novak Djokovic to win the US Open in New York.

And the world No3 is looking forward to next week’s tournament at The O2 and insists he is used to dealing with the pressure of an expectant home crowd.

“The thing that’s rare about the World Tour Finals is that it’s not open to everybody, it’s only the top eight,” Murray told the Metro.

“Having it in London, it’s an unbelievable event. Because of Wimbledon, I’m fairly used to the pressure.

“You don’t get too wrapped up in what’s going on off the court, you focus on your job and don’t watch too much TV and read the newspapers. You just go about your business.”
