Celtic edged towards elimination from the Champions League after suffering an emphatic 3-0 loss to Juventus in the first leg of their last-16 encounter at Parkhead.
Alessandro Matri scored in the third minute to put the Serie A champions ahead before Claudio Marchisio and Mirko Vucinic struck in the second half to seal the win.

Arsenal midfielder Emmanuel Frimpong (@IAMFRIMPONG26) wants to see a response: “Celtic fan tonight, c’mon you Scots!”
Newcastle defender Danny Simpson (@dannysimpson) expects the home side to score: “Surely Celtic are going to score soon.”
Crystal Palace defender Peter Ramage (@peterramage83) doesn’t rate the referee’s performance: “This ref is having a reggie blinker! Yea the Italians defensive shape is a work of art, but corners are a joke! Ref needs to grow some balls!”
Comedian John Bishop (@JohnBishop100) is distraught as Juve add a second: “Gutted for Celtic. Got to stop wrestling in the area! They deserve more than this.”
Marseille midfielder Joseph Barton (@Joey7Barton) can’t see a way back for Celtic after Vucinic’s goal: “Curtains! 3-0. Did feel with the pace they played at from the start, it was not maintainable for the duration of a game. Marking from the corners for Juve, has been borderline GBH at times. I went to jail for much less… #celticvjuve”
Stoke striker Michael Owen (@themichaelowen) hails a true Italian great: “Buffon is still one of the best in the business. His handling has been exemplary.”
Former Liverpool defender Neil Ruddock (@RealRazor) felt the Hoops deserved more: “Can’t believe that’s finished 3-0. Hoops must have had 70 per cent of the play!! Didn’t like the referee.”
Everton midfielder Darron Gibson (@D_gibson4) agrees with Razor: “Gutted for the Celts didn’t deserve that tonight!”
Finally, Sky’s Chris Kamara (@chris_kammy) reckons Lennon will be proud of his players: “Celtic had a real go but Juve were clinical in front of goal, Neil Lennon’s boys gave him everything so he won’t be too downhearted.”
