Michael Owen is backing Arsenal to beat Bournemouth in a high-scoring game at Vitality Stadium on Sunday.

The Gunners are looking to maintain their unbeaten run in the Premier League, which stretches back to their 3-1 win against West Ham United at The Emirates on 25 August.

Arsenal lost to defending champions Manchester City and bitter rivals Chelsea FC in their opening two Premier League fixtures under new Spanish manager Unai Emery.

However, the north London side responded with a run of seven victories and three stalemates to hoist themselves up to fifth place in the Premier League table.

Arsenal are three points adrift of Tottenham and can capitalise on their north London rivals’ game against Chelsea FC at Wembley in the early game on Sunday.

Emery’s side have scored 26 times in 12 games in the Premier League this season – only Manchester City and Chelsea FC have netted more times than Arsenal.

Former Liverpool FC striker Owen is backing Arsenal to come out on top in a high-scoring game against Bournemouth in the Premier League on Sunday.

“Arsenal have drawn their last three in the league and have conceded first in each of those games which shows there is nothing wrong with the spirit or resilience under Unai Emery,” Owen told BetVictor.

“Bournemouth’s Callum Wilson has scored in all three Premier League games he has played against the Gunners and the Cherries striker will not lack for confidence after his goal for England against the States.

“I feel Arsenal will take all three points in another game where I would think there will be plenty of goalscoring opportunities at both ends.”

Arsenal have drawn their last three Premier League games following stalemates with Crystal Palace, Liverpool FC and Wolves to fall behind Spurs in the top-four race.

The Gunners are looking to secure a return to the Champions League following fifth and sixth place finishes under Arsene Wenger in the last two Premier League seasons.
