Brendan Rodgers: Liverpool need few more windows to match Tottenham
Brendan Rodgers says the Reds need a few more transfer windows before they can match Tottenham's squad strength

Brendan Rodgers believes Liverpool will need another few transfer windows to match the squad strength of their top-four rivals.
The Reds were one of the busiest clubs this summer as the Northern Irishman added seven new faces to his squad, including Mamadou Sakho, for a total outlay of £55m.
Tottenham Hotspur spent in excess of £103m on seven new players during the off-season, with Christian Eriksen, Erik Lamela and Roberto Soldado all moving to north London in big-money deals, whilst Gareth Bale joined Real Madrid.
Liverpool are the only Premier League club still to boast a 100 per cent record, but Rodgers still feels he lacks strength in depth.
“We still need to make improvements,” Rodgers said.
“Tottenham have spent £100m to try and get in the top four. It will take another few windows to get that quality in the group.”
Liverpool make the trip to Swansea City on Monday night, and Rodgers warned his players against over confidence following three successive top-flight wins.
“It is important to maintain that and we have to be vigilant. We can be better,” he added.
“We have shown in stages the quality we can have with the passion, resilience and desire. We just need to keep getting results.
“We need to keep the feel-good factor going.”
