Brendan Rodgers loves Liverpool’s ‘cleverness and fluency’

Brendan Rodgers has praised Liverpool’s “cleverness” and “fluency” after the Reds secured a 4-1 victory over West Ham United on Saturday.

Liverpool made it nine goals in back-to-back Anfield games as the Premier League’s top goal-scorer Luis Suarez bagged his 14th top-flight strike of the season.

And Rodgers is glad to see Liverpool scoring freely at Anfield after the Reds struggled under Roy Hodgson and Kenny Dalglish in front of their home support.

“I enjoy watching my team being creative,” Rodgers is quoted as saying by Liverpool Echo.

“Our technical ability was very good. It’s an unforgiving league, but I think that our flow and rhythm is getting better all the time.

“When I came in, scoring goals was a huge problem for the team. You look at us now, we got four against West Ham, and you could argue that we could have
had eight or nine. You don’t do that if you’re not creating and if you’re not good on the ball.

“There are parts of the game where I love watching my team. I love their fluency, their cleverness, and seeing gifted players work hard in a system is great to watch.

“We’ve still got work to do, but I have said from the beginning that we are in the conversation. Every time the league is flashed up, Liverpool is mentioned. That’s what it was all about.”
