Brendan Rodgers will get best out of Emre Can, says Liverpool legend
Former Liverpool midfielder Dietmar Hamann expects Emre Can to prove a "tremendous bit of business"
Brendan Rodgers will get the best out of Liverpool signing Emre Can, according to Dietmar Hamann.
The 20-year-old penned a long-term deal with the Reds on Thursday after Liverpool agreed a £9.75m deal with the midfielder’s employers Bayer Leverkusen last month.
What a prospect for Emre Can to come here, work with Brendan and all of these young players and see the improvement Brendan has made with a lot of young players over the last two years

And former Bayern Munich and Liverpool star Hamann believes the Germany Under-21 international will improve under Rodgers and prove to be a tremendous signing.
“Fans should be excited because these are the types of players Brendan wants to work with and gets the best out of,” Hamann told Liverpool’s website.
“Look at the improvement of [Raheem] Sterling, especially [Jordan] Henderson last year and also Joe Allen – it gives you a lot to look forward to.
“You saw [Jon] Flanagan come in this season, you’ve got [Andre] Wisdom maybe coming back to the club, so there have been a lot of young players coming into the team.
“You’ve got the spine of a team now with [Martin] Skrtel, who had a tremendous season last season, [Mamadou] Sakho, [Daniel] Agger and Steven played the holding role.”
Hamann added: “Stevie will improve all of the players he plays with in central midfield because if you know you’ve got Stevie behind you, it gives you a lot of confidence and he will talk and give people the right advice to flourish.
“It must be great for a young player. What a prospect for Emre Can to come here, work with Brendan and all of these young players and see the improvement Brendan has made with a lot of young players over the last two years.
“He could be a fantastic fit. Sometimes you’ve got to be careful not to get too carried away, but he’s an exciting prospect and is tremendous business.”
