Cardiff City 0 Tottenham 1: We got justice, declares Andre Villas-Boas
Cardiff City 0 Tottenham 1: Andre Villas-Boas says Spurs are fully deserving of their victory after Paulinho's last-gasp winner
Andre Villas-Boas insisted Tottenham were fully deserving of their victory after Paulinho’s last-gasp winner at Cardiff hoisted his side up to second in the table.
Spurs dominated for large spells and had 12 shots on target before the Brazil international back-heeled in Erik Lamela’s low cross in the 93rd minute.
The win puts Villas-Boas’ men level on points with north London rivals Arsenal at the top of the Premier League table.
And the Spurs boss was thrilled with his side’s dominant display as they racked up their fourth league win of the new campaign.
“Today, it was different from normal in that there was justice in football,” Villas-Boas told BBC Sport. “We created so many chances that there could only be one winner.
“Last season we had the best record away from home after Manchester United. We looked very strong.
“Bearing in mind the win they got against Manchester City there won’t be many teams getting points here, so I’m happy. [Cardiff’s] David Marshall is a great goalkeeper. He did extremely well today.”
The Portuguese coach added: “It’s a great win. But I suffered a lot…like everyone else!”
Tottenham travel to Aston Villa in the third round of the League Cup on Tuesday night.
