Liverpool moved back to the top of the table after the Reds were 2-1 winners against West Ham United at Upton Park on Sunday.
Steven Gerrard put Liverpool ahead thanks to his first-half penalty before Guy Demel levelled on the stroke of half-time, but the Reds captain scored the winner from the spot with 19 minutes remaining.
