Champions League draw: Arsenal will take on holders Bayern Munich for place in the quarter-finals

Arsenal will take on holders Bayern Munich for a place in the quarter-finals of the Champions League after the last 16 draw was made on Monday.
The Gunners were knocked out by the Bundesliga champions on away goals at the same stage of the competitions last season. A 2-0 win at the Allianz Arena was not enough for Arsene Wenger’s men after a 3-1 home defeat in the first leg.
Meanwhile, Manchester City were handed a blockbuster showdown against La Liga champions Barcelona as a reward for reaching the last 16 for the first time in the club’s history.
Didier Drogba is set for a return to Stamford Bridge after Jose Mourinho’s Chelsea were pitted against Turkish side Galatasaray.
And David Moyes’ Manchester United will take on Greek outfit Olympiacos for a place in the last eight.
Manchester City director of football Txiki Begiristain told Sky Sports: “It’s very tough, but we are happy because we are here and we will fight for the trophy.
“It’s a wonderful draw and these are two big teams so it’s going to be great, great matches.
“The last game we played in Munich, winning against the champions of Europe [Bayern Munich] and that has given us a lot of confidence. We have shown we can score in all matches.”
The first-leg ties of the Champions League last 16 clashes will be played on 18-19 and 25-26 February 2014.
