Chelsea

Petr Cech Made a good save to deny Bent in the first half and was alert when called into action. 7/10

Branislav Ivanovic Produced a solid display at right-back. Wasn’t overly tested by veteran Duff. Looked to get forward as often as possible. 6

Gary Cahill Bounced back from the mid-week disappointment against Basel well. Was more comfortable alongside skipper Terry. 7

John Terry Mourinho talked up the importance of his skipper ahead of the west London derby. Terry’s experience helped to bring stability to the home side’s defence. Great assist for Mikel’s goal. 7

Ashley Cole The England left-back was quiet. Did produce one lung-bursting run into the Fulham area in the first half. 6

Ramires A tireless runner in midfield. Worked hard to provide a link between midfield and attack. 6

John Obi Mikel Played his familiar holding role. Was largely anonymous but did score his first goal in 259 games to seal the win in the 83rd minute. 6

Andre Schürrle The German was lively on the right wing as he received plenty of the ball. It was his determination which helped create Chelsea’s opener. Set-piece delivery was poor, though. 7

Oscar (Man of the match) Mourinho revealed Oscar is his favourite No10 ahead of the derby. On this showing, the Brazilian will keep his place. He was at the heart of most of Chelsea’s best passages of play. Was alert to pounce on the loose ball and the net the winner in the first half. 8

Eden Hazard It was a steady if, at times, unspectacular performance from the diminutive Belgian. Still short on confidence and it showed against Fulham. 6

Samuel Eto’o The Cameroon striker’s wait for his first Premier League goal continues. Played a role in Chelsea’s winner. Was replaced in the 63rd minute. 6

Substitutes

Fernando Torres Was lively at Stamford Bridge. Didn’t have a chance to test Stockdale.

Fulham

David Stockdale Couldn’t do too much about Chelsea’s winner with his defence in disarray. Made a terrific save to deny Cahill in the 83rd minute. 6

Sascha Riether Looked a threat going forward but his attacking intent was tempered by Chelsea’s adventurous wingers. 6

Brede Hangeland Was a solid performer in the heart of Fulham’s defence. Kept Eto’o – and Torres – in check. 7

Fernando Amorebieta Looked comfortable on the ball, befitting his Spanish origin. Made a couple of timely interceptions. 6

Kieran Richardson Showed tenacity when defending Stockdale’s goal. Wasn’t afforded much opportunity to get forward and create. 6

Damien Duff Was subdued on his return to Stamford Bridge. Didn’t cause the home side too much concern and was replaced midway through the second half. 5

Scott Parker Unsurprisingly, Parker made his presence felt in midfield. One of Fulham’s better performers, although he tired in the latter stages. 7

Steve Sidwell Another former Chelsea midfielder. Sidwell complemented Parker well but couldn’t provide Bent with much service. 6

Alex Kacaniklic Struggled to leave any impact on the west London derby. 5

Pajtim Kasami Was lively and caused Chelsea’s defence some problems. Struggled to link up with his strike partner. 5

Darren Bent Had little service from his team-mates. But Bent did waste Fulham’s best chance of the derby in the first half as he produced a tame effort when one-on-one with Cech. 5

Substitutes

Adel Taarabt Replaced Duff but didn’t get on the ball. Very muted. 4
