Alex Bruce was impressed by Danny Drinkwater's performance as Chelsea claimed a 5-0 win over Stoke on Saturday

Hull City defender Alex Bruce heaped praise on Danny Drinkwater after the Chelsea midfielder helped to fire the Blues to a 5-0 victory over Stoke City in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.
The west London side made it back to back wins in the Premier League in style with a comfortable victory over the Potters at Stamford Bridge.
Antonio Rudiger set the Blues on their way towards victory by firing the west London side ahead in the third minute.
And Drinkwater then made it 2-0 to the home side in the ninth minute with an excellent shot from 25 yards out.
Pedro Rodriguez then added his name to the scoresheet to make it 3-0 before half-time, and Willian made it four from the penalty spot late on.
Davide Zappacosta then scored in the final moments to add further gloss to the scoreline.
Defender Bruce was on commentary duty for BBC Sport on Saturday and he was very impressed by what he saw from Drinkwater as the midfielder made just his third Premier League start of the season.
Speaking to BBC Sport during the game, Bruce said of Drinkwater’s strike: “Excellent goal. He’s got that in his locker, Danny Drinkwater.
“Anything around the box he’ll be a threat and we’ve seen it again.
“He’s controlled the spinning ball really nicely, and smashed it home.”
The win lifted Chelsea up into second place in the Premier League table ahead of Manchester United’s clash with Southampton later on Saturday.
The west London side return to Premier League action on Wednesday night with a trop to Arsenal.
