Chelsea have agreed a fee of £40m to sign Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain from Arsenal, according to reports
Chelsea have agreed a fee of £40m to sign Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain from Arsenal, according to reports in the British media.
The Sun is reporting that the Blues have reached an agreement with the Gunners to bring the 24-year-old England international to Stamford Bridge.
However, the same story says that Liverpool have not given up hope of being able to lure Oxlade-Chamberlain to Anfield before the transfer window drops shut on Thursday night.
The story says that Oxlade-Chamberlain now has to discuss personal terms with Chelsea ahead of his proposed transfer across London.
The article also explains that Chelsea’s bid to sign Oxlade-Chamberlain is worth £35m up front, plus a further £5m in add-ons.
It is also claimed in the same report that Oxlade-Chamberlain, who has less than a year left on his Arsenal contract, rejected a new offer of a contract worth £180,000 to stay at The Emirates.
Chelsea have been linked with a host of players throughout the summer transfer window, but the Blues have so far only concluded four incoming deals.
The west London side have brought in Willy Caballero, Tiemoue Bakayoko, Alvaro Morata and Antonio Rudiger as Conte looks for his team to defend their Premier League title and also challenge for the Champions League.
