Pat Nevin is guaranteeing plenty of goals between Chelsea and Everton at Stamford Bridge in the League Cup fourth round on Wednesday night.

The defending Premier League champions were 4-2 winners against Watford at Stamford Bridge on Saturday after goals from Michy Batshuayi and Cesar Azpilicueta helped the Blues to come from behind to secure three points.

Chelsea have conceded eight goals in their last four Premier League games to raise concerns about the title holders’ form as Conte looks to retain his title following a brilliant 2016-17 season.

The west London side will be looking to secure their progression to the fifth round in the Carabao Cup at the expense of Everton, who sacked Ronald Koeman following a 5-2 loss to Arsenal at Goodison Park at the weekend.

The Toffees have appointed David Unsworth as their new caretaker manager but the retired defender has less than 48 hours to work with the squad before Wednesday’s clash at Chelsea.

Former Chelsea and Everton winger Nevin is tipping an exciting game between the two Premier League teams in the League Cup fourth round.

“Everton arrive tomorrow again and I have absolutely no idea what kind of line-up either side will send out, but with the way things have been going of late I would pretty much guarantee goals and excitement,” Nevin told Chelsea’s website.

“For once, I am really looking forward to a game between my two old clubs and maybe a chance to see some more youngsters in a first team shirt.”

Chelsea have won the Premier League title in two of the past three seasons.

The Blues lost 2-1 to Arsenal in the FA Cup final at Wembley last term.
