Eden Hazard has admitted that he is desperate to secure start his first Premier League game of the new season following Chelsea FC’s 3-2 win over Arsenal on Saturday evening.
The Belgium international was afforded an extra break after the Chelsea FC number 10 captained the Red Devils to third place in the World Cup in Russia during the summer.
Hazard was on the bench for the west London side’s 3-0 win over Huddersfield Town in their Premier League opener after Maurizio Sarri got his reign off to a winning start.
The Chelsea FC star wasn’t named in the starting XI for the visit of Arsenal on Saturday evening.
The Blues eased into a 2-0 lead thanks to goals from Alvaro Morata and Pedro Rodriguez before Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Alex Iwobi levelled the derby clash before half-time.
Hazard came off the bench to tee up Marcos Alonso to net the winner with 10 minutes to go to maintain Sarri’s 100 per cent start to the new Premier League season.
Speaking to BBC Sport about Chelsea FC’s 3-2 win over Arsenal at Stamford Bridge on Saturday evening, Hazard underlined his desire to start his first Premier League clash of the new campaign.
Hazard said: “It is better to be on the pitch than watching on the bench, but the boys when they are playing they did well so I am just happy for the win.”
Chelsea FC finished in fifth spot in the Premier League last term.
