Pundit credits 25-year-old with ‘best’ Chelsea FC display in 4-1 win over Arsenal
BT Sport pundit Robbie Savage lavishes praise on Mateo Kovacic for his display in Chelsea FC's 4-1 win over Arsenal in the Europa League final

Robbie Savage praised Mateo Kovacic for his best performance in a Chelsea FC shirt this season in their 4-1 victory over Arsenal in the Europa League final on Wednesday night.
The Croatia international was named in Maurizio Sarri’s starting line up for the Uefa final in Baku as the loan signing made his 49th appearance of the season in all competitions.
Kovavic had featured in all 11 of their previous games in the Europa League this season, starting nine times and making two substitute appearances.
And the 25-year-old acquitted himself well in the Europa League final as he helped Chelsea FC to get a stranglehold on the game in the second half.
Kovacic touched the ball 78 times and completed 91 per cent of his attempted passes to produce an assured performance in the middle of the park.
The Croatian star was substituted with 15 minutes to go as Sarri opted to bring on England international Ross Barkley in the Baku final.
BT Sport pundit Savage heaped praise on Kovacic for his timely performance in Chelsea FC’s 4-1 win over Arsenal in the Europa League final.
“It was his best 75 minutes in a Chelsea FC shirt,” Savage told BT Sport.
“He looked confident. He was making runs from midfield. It was a magnificent performance from Kovacic.”
Olivier Giroud broke the deadlock against his former club before Pedro Rodriguez doubled the west London side’s lead.
Eden Hazard scored either side of Alex Iwobi’s goal to seal a 4-1 win for the Blues.
