Ian Wright warns Chelsea FC about Alvaro Morata’s loss of form
The Arsenal legend doesn't believe Alvaro Morata is up to grade at Chelsea FC right now
Ian Wright has warned Chelsea FC that Alvaro Morata still isn’t up to the required standard.
The Spain international moved to Chelsea FC from La Liga giants Real Madrid in the 2017 summer transfer window.
The 24-year-old striker scored eight times in his opening seven games to hit the ground running, including a hat-trick at Stoke City.
However, Morata has struggled to maintain his consistency and form over the past few months, prompting criticism of the Spanish forward.
The former Juventus striker has only managed to score four goals in his last 26 appearances in all competitions in the current campaign.
Antonio Conte has even started Belgian forward Eden Hazard ahead of Morata in a lone striker role in recent weeks.
Former Arsenal striker Wright isn’t impressed with Morata’s current performances in the Chelsea FC team.
“Morata is not where he should be in respects of striking potential and what we know he can do,” Wright told BBC Radio 5 Live.
Morata has struggled to adapt to the rigours of the Premier League and Chelsea FC’s demanding fixture schedule.
The Blues forward has won Serie A and La Liga titles with Juventus and Real Madrid, as well as the Champions League twice.
