Jamie Redknapp doesn’t believe Eden Hazard has turned into a different player at Chelsea FC this season.

The Blues forward has made a scintillating start to the Premier League campaign following a return of seven goals in their opening nine games.

The Chelsea FC number 10 is on course to smash his best return for a Premier League season, which currently stands at 16 goals in the 2016-17 campaign.

Hazard failed to get on the score sheet in Chelsea FC’s 2-2 draw with Manchester United in the Premier League at Stamford Bridge last weekend.

However, the 27-year-old was still a threat in the bitter clash as Ross Barkley netted a late equaliser to ensure the west London side’s unbeaten record was preserved.

Hazard was linked with a potential move to La Liga giants Real Madrid in the summer after Cristiano Ronaldo completed a move to Juventus from Real Madrid.

The Belgian star ultimately remained at Chelsea FC but speculation continues to link Hazard with a move to the Champions League holders.

While Redknapp believes Hazard is capable of scoring 40 goals this season to rival Lionel Messi and Ronaldo, the former Liverpool FC captain believes the Chelsea FC star is still the same player despite his prolific streak.

“Sarri has given him the freedom to do that [cut in from the left more often] – but I don’t think we should be branding him as a new version of Eden Hazard,” Redknapp told Sky Sports.

‘When Chelsea last won the league he was brilliant then, too. This season, though, he’s getting goals – and he’s not always had that end product.

“He’s realised that to get on the back pages of papers you’ve got to score goals. That’s what Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo do. Sarri has said to him he wants 40 goals from him. After the start he’s made it is not unrealistic – although it will take some doing.”

Hazard moved to Chelsea FC from Lille in 2012 a matter of weeks after Roberto Di Matteo’s side won the Champions League crown.

The Belgian star has won two Premier League titles, the Europa League, two League Cups and the FA Cup during his six seasons at Stamford Bridge.

The Chelsea FC forward has less than 24 months to run on his current deal with the west London side to raise questions about his long-term future at Stamford Bridge.

The Blues sold Thibaut Courtois to Real Madrid in the summer to avoid losing the shot stopper on a free transfer.
