Frank Lampard believes Chelsea FC need to find some positive energy irrespective of Antonio Conte’s future at Stamford Bridge.
The Blues finished in fifth place in the Premier League table last season to miss out on a Champions League spot for the second time in three seasons.
Chelsea FC suffered a 3-0 loss to Newcastle United at St James’ Park in their final Premier League game of the season to finish five points adrift of fourth-placed Liverpool FC.
The west London outfit did manage to end the season on a high following Chelsea FC’s 1-0 win against Manchester United in the FA Cup final at Wembley last weekend.
Chelsea FC manager Conte is facing an uncertain future at Stamford Bridge after the Italian head coach endured a difficult second season at the west London side.
The Blues head coach hasn’t been afraid to express his discontent at Chelsea FC’s signings over the past 12 months or so.
Former Chelsea FC star Lampard believes the Blues need to ditch the negativity that has surrounded the west London club over the past season.
“There’s been a lot of negative talk coming out of the club for some time,” Lampard told BT Sport.
“I think it’s pretty open now that the recruitment was an issue last summer and that’s continued through the season.
“It’s given a bad vibe. For Chelsea as a football club, there needs to be a positive vibe, whether Antonio Conte stays, which looks pretty unlikely, or if they change managers.”
Chelsea FC won the Premier League title with two games to spare in the 2016-17 season after he finished seven points ahead of Tottenham Hotspur.
