Gianfranco Zola predicts where Chelsea FC will finish this season
Chelsea FC legend Gianfranco Zola is backing the Blues to finish in fifth place in the Premier League table

Gianfranco Zola is backing Chelsea FC to finish in fifth place in the Premier League table this season.
The Blues appointed Frank Lampard as their new manager in the summer after Maurizio Sarri parted company with the west London side following a 12-month spell at Stamford Bridge.
Sarri took over the reins at Serie A champions Juventus in July after the Italian head coach led the Blues to a third-place finish and the Europa League title.
Lampard will be tasked with replicating Sarri’s success with a top-four finish despite the departure of Eden Hazard in a big-money move to La Liga giants Real Madrid.
The Blues have bolstered their squad with the addition of Christian Pulisic and Mateo Kovacic but their summer activity was limited due to Fifa’s transfer ban.
Asked by beIN Sports presenter Richard Keys to give his top-four prediction, former Chelsea FC assistant manager Zola tipped Chelsea FC to finish in fifth spot.
“[My top six prediction is] Liverpool, City, Tottenham, United, Chelsea and Arsenal,” Zola told beIN SPORTS.
“It will be very close. I think it will be a real fight for the final Champions League spot.”
Chelsea FC will take on their bitter rivals Liverpool FC in an all-Premier League clash in the Uefa Super Cup on Wednesday night.
Lampard’s side will take on Leicester City at the King Power Stadium next Sunday in their second Premier League fixture.
The Blues haven’t won the Champions League since 2012.
