Maurizio Sarri warned new Chelsea FC signing will struggle
Jorginho could prove a disappointing signing for Chelsea FC, according to ESPN FC pundit Stewart Robson
Jorginho won’t be the outstanding signing that Chelsea FC are expecting, ESPN FC pundit Stewart Robson has claimed.
The Italy international was initially linked with a move to Liverpool FC in the 2017-18 Premier League season.
Jorginho was then touted as a potential target for defending Premier League champions Manchester City.
The Brazilian-born star appeared to be on the brink of a move to The Etihad before Chelsea FC trumped Jorginho’s offer.
The 26-year-old completed a £57m deal to Chelsea FC from Napoli to follow in the footsteps of Maurizio Sarri.
Jorginho struggled in Chelsea FC’s 2-0 loss to Manchester City in the Community Shield at Wembley.
However, the Italian star made amends with a penalty strike in a 3-0 victory over Huddersfield Town in the Premier League last weekend.
Former Arsenal star Robson is still unsure whether Jorginho will ultimately prove a successful Chelsea FC signing.
“I don’t think he is the outstanding player that people expect him to be for Chelsea,” Robson told ESPN FC.
“He hasn’t got great athleticism. I am not sure he is the player Chelsea think he is going to be.”
Chelsea FC were 1-0 winners against Manchester United in the FA Cup final at Wembley last term following Eden Hazard’s winner.
