Jose Mourinho believes new Chelsea FC manager Maurizio Sarri has the conditions to do good work at Stamford Bridge.
Sarri took over the reins from another Italian head coach last month after the Blues sacked Antonio Conte following a controversial second season for the ex-Juventus boss.
The 59-year-old built an impressive reputation after the controversial Italian transformed Napoli into title challengers in the 2017-18 Serie A season.
The Naples side narrowly missed out on a first Serie A title since 1990 after Juventus retained their top flight crown but Napoli earned plaudits for their brand of football.
Sarri is the latest quality coach to take over a Premier League club with Pep Guardiola in charge of champions Manchester City and Jurgen Klopp holding the reins of Liverpool FC.
Unai Emery replaced Arsene Wenger at Arsenal earlier this summer, while their north London rivals Tottenham Hotspur continue to improve under Mauricio Pochettino.
Manchester United boss Mourinho delivered his honest verdict on Sarri ahead of the new Premier League season.
Mourinho told beIN SPORTS: “When I was in Italy from 2008 to 2010, he was not in Serie A. I never met him or played against him.
“I just follow football and lately the good work he did with Napoli.
“In England, all the good managers have the desire to come. It’s a crazy competition with a high level so I think every manager has the dream to come so he had the chance to come.
“He has a fantastic team, fantastic players and squad – I think he has conditions to do good work.”
Chelsea FC signed Italy international Jorginho in a £57m deal from Serie A giants Napoli last month to make the holding midfielder their first summer addition.
Experienced 38-year-old England goalkeeper Rob Green completed a free transfer to Chelsea FC to provide the west London side with more depth in goal.
