Olivier Dacourt claims Chelsea FC star is better than Claude Makelele
The former Everton star believes N'Golo Kante is a more progressive midfielder than Chelsea FC legend Claude Makelele

N’Golo Kante is a better Chelsea FC midfielder than Blues legend Claude Makelele, Olivier Dacourt has claimed.
The France international has established himself as a key member of the Blues team since his £30m move to Chelsea FC from Leicester City in the 2016 summer transfer window.
Kante was a vital member of Claudio Ranieri’s Foxes team that achieved one of the biggest upsets in English football when Leicester won the Premier League title in 2016.
The defensive midfielder went on to transform Chelsea FC into title winners in the 2016-17 season and won the PFA Premier League player of the year back in April.
Kante has often been likened to former Blues and France midfielder Makelele given his ability to thrive as a specialist holding midfielder.
Former Everton and Leeds star Dacourt explained why Kante is a better player than Makelele.
“Yes, he looks like him, except that Ngolo Kante is Ngolo Kante, he can project himself forward,” Dacourt told bWIN.
“Claude, at the beginning of his career, was an attacker but afterwards he was put in defence and he did not show himself too much, he did not score many goals.
“Kante has this penetrating force, he can provoke, he can go forward and he is also good in the combination.
“Claude was really a sentinel, remained well in defence, while Ngolo Kante likes to participate.”
Makelele won two Premier League titles, two League Cup crowns and the FA Cup during a five-season spell at Stamford Bridge.
The retired Frenchman was credited with being a key player in the Real Madrid’s Galatico side that won two La Liga titles and the Champions League.
Chelsea FC are in fourth place in the Premier League table following successive losses to Bournemouth and Watford.
